Range
Rentaloc’s range of rail shunting vehicles consists exclusively of rail-road devices. Two-way or road-rail shunting vehicles traditionally generate their traction by means of rubber tires and can run on both track and road.
Our range consists of:
The advantages of the road/rail concept:
- Due to the greater adhesion of the rubber tires to the rails, the same machine weight offers at least double the traction capacity of a traditional steel wheel shunter.
- The delivery of all our machines takes place extremely cost-effectively with a standard low-loader and does not require exceptional road transport or specifically organized rail transport.
- The shunting vehicle is very mobile because it can move at a maximum speed of +/- 20 km/h both on and of the rail track. This increases the efficiency of the shunting work.
- In contrast to traditional locomotives, the compressor can deliver its full power independently of the engine speed, so that even the longest trainsets are pressurized in less than 5 minutes at low engine loads.
- The maintenance costs are significantly lower than with traditional locomotives because mainly components of construction machines are used instead of specific railway industry parts:
- Relatively simple and common tools will suffice
- Designed from the ground up for optimum accessibility to all components
- Fast parts availability
- Due to the lower maximum speed, smaller engines suffice, which means that diesel consumption is significantly less, thanks in part to a freely parameterizable start & stop system.
- A significantly lower investment cost compared to traditional locomotives
B-Track
The flexible, efficient and reliable shunting solution with a towing capacity of up to 2.400 tons.
- Extremely user-friendly so that required training time is limited
- Very precise dosing of power and speed through the hydrostatic drive
- Very manoeuvrable and easy switching between modes thanks to standard 4-wheel steering
- Spacious, comfortable and easily accessible driver's cab with 360° visibility and standard air conditioning

D-Track
The road-rail solution for the toughest shunting work.
- Patented bogie principle with passive track guidance system with equal weight distribution between the road and rail axes
- Hydrostatic 8-wheel drive including 4-wheel steering
- Offers the conceptual safety of a traditional locomotive, combined with the advantages of a dual-mode vehicle:
- The ergonomics of a “traditional” locomotive: spacious cab (up to 4 people) with standing/double operation option, 360° view, sliding windows
- Easy to transport on a regular low-loader thanks to removable ballast & cabin
- State of the art connectivity:
- Permanent mobile data transfer via GSM module
- BODAS-IoT including logging, reading out driving characteristics, GPS track&trace and flashing from a distance
